What’s changed in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod over the past 50+ years? When will women be ordained in the LCMS and how will this change occur? The Rev. Dr. George F. Lobien addresses these questions and more in his article, A Time for Everything. Pastor Lobien is a graduate of Concordia Seminary in St. Louis and a retired LCMS pastor. He encourages dialog about the ordination of women and is supportive of it, writing of changes he’s witnessed in the Missouri Synod over the past fifty-four years, the relationship between religion and culture, and how the ordination of women may begin in our church.
Pastor Lobien’s article begins a new section on the Ordain Women Now website that is dedicated to relating the stories of Missouri Synod pastors and their support for women in ordained ministry. Under the heading “LCMS Pastors,” it can be accessed from our home page and directly through this link: https://www.ordainwomennow.com/lcms-pastors/ . To share your experiences as a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod pastor and support for the ordination of women, please send an email to OWN(at)ordainwomennow.com.
I hope to see it in my lifetime.
